The RZ Mandibular Matrix System provides a series of MEDPORŽ Implants designed to address mandible contour irregularities from the symphysis to the angle. The Matrix System includes three (3) anatomical segments: extended chin designs, geniomandibular groove and mandibular angle implants. The wrap-around design of each component conforms to the free borders of the mandible and provides a snug fit for minimal screw fixation. They provide a tri-dimensional restoration and/or enhancement of the volume for the chin, mid mandible and the gonial angle. MEDPOR Implants are biocompatible porous polyethylene for use in facial skeletal augmentation. The interconnecting omni-directional porous structure of the material allows for rapid vascularization and tissue ingrowth. MEDPOR Biomaterial may be easily contoured with a sharp scalpel and can be shaped using hot sterile saline.

The Chin, Geniomandibular Groove and Angle designs of the RZ Mandibular Matrix System are purchased as individually packaged sterile units. An instructional surgical guide prepared by Dr. Ramirez is available upon request from Porex Surgical.

The RZ Extended Chin Implants are available in designs with either square or round anterior projections. Three (3) sizes are provided in both the square and round designs with anterior projections of 3 mm (small), 5 mm (medium) and 7 mm (large). The Extended Chins contain a notch for mental nerve passage and provide tri-dimensional projection (anterior, lateral and inferior) with the distal extension going slightly beyond the geniomandibular groove. The two-piece design is joined at the midline by a separate tab that allows individual placement of the left and right portions of the implant. The alignment tab is designed long to allow wide placement of the two implant halves. The overall implant width may be reduced by trimming at the midline.

Implants are provided STERILE, packaged individually in double peel pouches.
