The Extended Ear Base design
provides an improved anatomical shape that includes the tragus.
The two-piece design permits tailoring the height and projection
of the helix to match the contra lateral side of the patient.
The shapes can be trimmed and countoured with a scalpel to suit
the individual needs of the patient. The MEDPORŽ Ear framework
components (base and helical rim) are intended for use with a
vascular tissue flap (such as a TPF flap) and an overlying skin
graph.
The two sectional
components of this anatomical auricular reconstruction design
allows for reconstruction of an ear rim or a total ear
reconstruction for Microtia patients. The pivoting helical rim
provides adjustment of the projection and flexibility of the
rim. Surgical techniques are suggested in "A Guide to External
Ear Reconstruction..." by Dr. T. Wellisz. A copy is available

STERILE Helical Rim and
Extended Ear Base implants are individually packaged in double
peel pouches.
